The story is written for the same audience and reflects the same theme as Emily the Elephant Makes a New Friend. Both books strive to instill self confidence and acceptance in small children. Zoe recognizes her differences and struggles to be embraced by her peers. After befriending another animal who is also having a hard time being accepted, Zoe begins to see herself. She discovers that in the process of being accepted by Larry, she has seen a reflection of who she really is and learns to walk a little taller!
The Lonely Guitar - The Lonely Guitar is a geographical fiction set in Quito, Ecuador about a very young boy with very normal struggles. Faced with adversity and poverty, youth and sometimes loneliness Freddy learns the importance of family, hope and perseverance. Although the setting is Quito, Ecuador, the problems he faces cross cultural and international boundaries. Special attention has been paid to the authenticity of cultural and geographical reference providing an education of places and faces unknown to most American children. As natives of Quito, my family has provided reference and integrity to the testimony of the land and its inhabitants. Release of this finished manuscript is coming soon! Garrett and His Glorious Goblin Crystals - Garrett’s Glorious Goblin Crystals is the rhyming whimsical story about a treasure imparted to Garrett by his mother. What Garrett wasn’t prepared for were the rules that go along with the caring and feeding part! The purpose of the books is to challenge young imaginations, while reinforcing the idea of helping out with chores and being responsible. The story is written in rhyme with full color illustrations that are bold and rich in color and imagination. Pending publication. Mudslide on Mars - Mudslide on Mars is the first in a series of children’s books written for very young children about the planets and solar system. The purpose of the books is to challenge young imaginations and encourage interest in the planets and stars. The story is written in rhyme with full color illustrations that are bold and rich in color and imagination. It is a fictional, fantastical story about a journey through the stars on a mission to save Mars. Refractions of Life - Please see our portal "In Through the Out Door" for more detail regarding this collection of adult writings. Within these works, lies a world of creativity, introspection, awareness and contemplation with something for everyone as long as they are an adult. These ingredients have been woven through the tapestries created in Refractions of Life to solicit individual reflection, wonderment and consideration. We welcome you through the door to her mind with warm wishes of personal identification and illumination. As a disclaimer and in the spirit of the innocence and safety of our children, please proof any an all works prior to allowing anyone under the age of 16 to share them. Some stories might be considered enlightening with prior parental consent but not all works are upbeat and inspirational. As adults we understand life brings us time of bright beautiful colors, enriching our spirits and renewing our mind but at others it can't be dark and shadowing, painting our days with sorrow and misgivings. Life is a wondrous journey that evolves and changes dynamically but reflection is sometimes left for the adults allowing the children to paint their own hues and auras without the canvas of another lifetime.
